Featured Club Sport: Club Cross CountryClub Cross Country is in its second year of a reformat. The club now provides opportunities for runners of all types from the recreational runner, to runners who would like to compete on the collegiate level. Club Cross Country strives to build relationships with every team member while helping each other achieve one’s goals. Practices are every day for an hour and consist of strength training and endurance. Runners get to see a lot of Denver on foot from Washington Park to the Highline Canal to Red Rocks. The team also plans to incorporate weight lifting and yoga into training as well. Club Cross Country competes in collegiate and road races around Colorado. Their first race was the Colorado College Invitational on September 19 in Colorado Springs. Freshman Hannah Stumpp placed 16th on the women’s side out of 56 women. On October 3, the team also competed in the Rocky Mountain Shootout up on the University of Colorado’s home course. The women’s team placed fifteen runners in the Rocky Mountain Shootout on September 19 in Colorado Springs. The women’s team placed 9th out of 11 bearing Colorado Christian College and Garden City College. Upcoming races include the Panicking Poultry on November 15 at Boulder Reservoir. For winter and spring quarters the team plans to participate in the snowman race series in the winter and the Fort Collins marathon in the spring.
