US Open, Jr. Nationals and Western Zone Highlights
2009 US Open
Katy Motsinger, Ellie Freeman, Olivia Dean, Garth Summers, Clay Myers, Rob Newell and Brian Krump competed in the 2009 US Open. The Women's 400 Medley Relay of Motsinger, Freeman, Dean, and Bridgette McNally combined for a 7th place finish in the Women's 400 Medley Relay. Individually, Ellie Freeman finished 15th in the 200 breast, and Rob Newell finished 16th in the 200 Back. The Hilltoppers were the only Colorado team to field a combined score at the 2009 US Open.
2009 Jr. Nationals
Ben Holston, Sawyer Franz, Dan Jurgs, Kyle Milberg, Kyle Noser, Mark Maguire, Cole Worsley, Paige Newell, Bridgette McNally, Kirsten Milberg, and Rachel Burns combined to finish 23rd out of over 400 teams in combined scoring at Jr. Nationals, highest of any team in Colorado. The Hilltoppers Women finished 14th in the 800 Free Relay, and 16th in the 400 Free Relay, both Relays were Colorado swimming 15-18 Womens State Records. Individually, Kirsten Milberg recorded a 15th place finish in the 200 Back. On the men's side, the 400 Medley Relay of Milberg, Maguire, Worsley and Jurgs finished 13th for a 15-18 boys state record. Worsley, Maguire, Jurgs and Holston also broke both the 15-18 Men's 400 and 800 Free Relay Record too. Individually, Kyle milberg finished 10th and 13th in the 200 Back and 100 Back respectively.
2009 Western Zones
Maggie Burkhardt, Miranda Reetz, Natalie Sidor, Timmy Smith, Rachel Hoffer, Kellyn Craig, Kara Schweitzer, Estee Dilli, Chris Wickwire, Kevin Blakeslee-Nishimura, Seth Perry, Michael McCormick, Darian Brunetti, Pj Wickwire, and Jake Witter. Wickwire and Brunetti tied for the 15-16 Boys Individual High Point Award while Jake Witter won the 17-18 Individual High Point Award. Individual Champions were Timmy Smith in the 13-14 Boys 400 IM, Kara Schweitzer in the 15-16 Women's 200 Breast, Michael McCormick in the Men's 15-16 100 Breast, Darian Brunetti in the 15-16 Men's 100 Back, 200 Back, 200 IM, and 400 IM, PJ Wickwire in the 15-16 Men's 200, 400, 800 and 1500 Free, Jake
Witter in the 17-18 Men's 800 and 1500 Free.
